Michelle Chong / Visual Art
Michelle Chong was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. She currently lives and works in Los Angeles. She holds an MFA from Otis College of Art and Design and an MA in Psychology from Antioch University. Michelle Chong is an artist, curator, and licensed psychotherapist. She has exhibited regionally and internationally, including the MexiCali Biennial, The Torrance Art Museum, Koh-i-noor, Copenhagen, Art Laboratory Berlin, and The Institute of Jamais Vu, London. Chong is a grant recipient of The City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs Artist-in-Residence, and Creative Capacity Fund’s NextGen Arts Program. She was the Founder and Director of Short House, a curatorial project spanning over a decade, curating shows in Baltimore, Berlin, Copenhagen, Joshua Tree, London, and throughout Los Angeles. She has served as Board Member for the Society for the Activation of Social Space through Art and Sound (SASSAS), Board Member for the Foundation for Art Resources (FAR), and as a Member of Kolonie Wedding in Berlin.
