DAY THIRTEEN LIZARD
AUGUST 12, 1521

The sun, the moon, the stars were covered with blood.
Tenochtitlan and Tlatelolco covered with horror, defiance, tears and honor.
A civilization lay bleeding.
Singing its last song:
Sangre sagrada / Sacred blood.
Sangre de lagrimas / Blood of tears.
Sangre de vida / Blood of life.
Nourish the void.

Eagle and Jaguar warriors fell
Mexika and Tlatelolka women and children
Picked up their weapons and fought
Singing their last song
Knowing that life and death is a dream dance of destiny.

Kuauhtemok spoke:
“There will be darkness for many ages
But the sun will shine again when we open our hearts.
We will be powerful again,
Not by the sword
But by the heart.
True power”.

He said, “the seeds of life and happiness are within”.
The treasure that Cortéz was looking for will never be found by greedy men.
It is buried where the seeds are hidden:
In our hearts.

Time to wake up to our true power:
To our flor y canto,
the poetry of the heart.
The source of life.
The source of love.
The source of wisdom.

He said, “all things in life are connected.
Listen to its song.
Its wisdom.
It lives in our seeds.”

The revolution towards change and consciousness begins in our hearts.
Begins with our actions.
Begins with compassion.
Begins with love.

Not talking about romance.
Talking about grace.

We are now in the Sixth Sun/Age.
A time of light.
A time of action.
A time of resistance.
A time of fighting for peace.
A time to be a warrior of the heart.
