Malado Francine Baldwin is multi-media artist based in Los Angeles She received an MFA in painting from the New York Studio School, and a BA in comparative literature from Swarthmore College. Recent film screenings include Grrl Haus Berlin where she completed a residency in summer 2019, the Everywoman Biennial, New York, and group shows at Paul Thiebaud Gallery, San Francisco and Berry Campbell Gallery, New York. Recent solo shows include the Philosophical Research Society and Winslow Garage (both Los Angeles). She co-curated the inaugural show “X Marks the Spot: Women of the New York Studio School, in 2018, and is a co-founder of The Association of Hysteric Curators. Her early film work was acquired as a part of Miranda July’s Joanie 4 Jackie feminist film series at Bard College and the Getty Research Institute. She is the recipient of the Buckingham Prize for music in art, and the Eugene Lang Scholarship for community service. Since 2014 she has co-managed the studio and estate of artist Huguette Caland.
