Ongoing projects in need of your support include —

The GetLit community artists project, chronicling and sharing the poetry of LAs vibrant youth who’ve chosen to study, share, and listen to one another via The GetLit Fellowship. These artist scholars work with dedicated GetLit mentors in school, after school, and on the weekends. The Los Angeles Press focuses on GetLit fellows, through collaborative teaching modules including — workshop artists in residence, visiting lecturers, programming, live and online events, and by publishing the fellows via our outline journal.

The Miriam Matthews Guide for Los Angeles Librarians, an interactive website publicizing arts programmers for all 100 libraries across Los Angeles. The list uplifts and centers women of color who provide interactive, and community library programming including arts and humanities workshops.

The Los Angeles Press online journal, publishing the best in new, emerging, and established writers and artists across the Southland. Publishing projects including chapbooks, and collections of poetry, visual arts, essays, and political discourse from writers across the west.

The Sally Award, an annual poetry award for working mothers in the Southland.

The Rios prize, an annual poetry honorarium for single mothers in Los Angeles.

The George Floyd Award for Poetry, an annual honorarium for a poem on the theme of justice, includes a monetary stipend and publication by The Los Angeles Press
